Sydney Santa Spectacular
Sydney’s biggest and arguably the most festive Christmas festival is back, but this year it will be held at Penrith Panthers from 23rd November to 26th December 2019. The festive extravaganza is home to one of Australia’s largest portable ice skating rinks, imported directly from Italy for a snowy sampling of European Winter in Sydney’s scorching summer heat. There's also live stage entertainment and a glittering Santa’s Enchanted Forest with live snowfall, plus a stack of brand new features including putt-putt golf, polar bear ball bit of snowballs and feature rides. Shrek The Halls, Auburn Botanic Gardens
Last year they turned into Whoville in celebration of the Grinch but this year it's all about the friendly green ogre! Discover the Kingdom of Far Far Away, as Auburn Botanic Gardens transforms into a fairy tale Christmas adventure, Shrek Style on Saturday 7 December from 6pm-10pm. See a dazzling Christmas light display, Christmas carols and performances by local community groups, free carnival rides, face painting, disco party and Christmas activities. Plus an open air cinema screening Shrek the Halls and Shrek Forever After. You'll even meet the stars of the movie - Shrek, Princess Fiona and Puss in Boots.
Christmas Wonderland, Sydney Showground
Christmas Wonderland Sydney Showground presents Sydneysiders with a Christmas extravaganza not to be missed from 18th to 24th December 2019. Experience the enchantment of a white Christmas with an ice skating rink, a snow play area where you can build a snowman or have a snowball fight, enjoy a magical stage show and ice show, and explore the Christmas village and marvel in Candy Cane Lane.
Christmas Lights Spectacular
Christmas Lights Spectacular is seriously worth the drive up north if you want to spread the Christmas spirit and joy to children of all ages. Hunter Valley Gardens invites you to explore the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest and most breathtaking display of over 2 million lights, including an incredible princess castle. The entire family will be able to enjoy the festive season with a delicious selection of food and beverage stalls, roaming entertainment including carollers (until Boxing Day), carnival rides, and nightly performances. From 8th November 2019 until 26th January 2020 (closed Christmas Day).
Lights of Christmas
Deck the halls at St Mary's Cathedral Square, in the heart of Sydney's CBD and enjoy the spectacular FREE sound and light show every night. It's like Vivid but with a festive spin and the projections just get better and better every year. Enjoy the festive vibe and spectacular imagery of Lights of Christmas, starting with a choir performance at 7:30pm and the light show from 8:30pm until midnight from Wednesday 5th until Tuesday 25th December.
The Beanies' Christmas Spectacular
2019 ARIA-award nominated children’s entertainers, The Beanies, will celebrate the holidays with their all-singing, all-dancing Christmas Spectacular on 12th December at Riverside Theatres. Laura, Mim and Michael, will have Mini-Beanies singing along to Christmas classics including Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as well as their own Christmas carol, The Christmas Rumba. Christmas in the City
It's one of the first events to kick off the festive season! From Saturday 23rd November to Wednesday 25th December, Martin Place comes alive with roaming entertainers, magicians, roller-skating baubles, stage shows, choirs, lights, giveaways and decorations. At this FREE event for the whole family see Jimmy Giggle, Justine Clarke, Sam Moran, SplashDance and Nay Nay perform live on stage. Santa will arrive in a brand new sleigh and the Martin Place Christmas Tree will light up at 8.30pm as fireworks illuminate Sydney’s spectacular skyline. Christmas in the City is a magical, must-do event!
Strathfield Christmas Carols
Strathfield Council invites you to celebrate the festive season at Strathfield Christmas Carols with a day full of magic including a visit from Santa Claus and fun children’s activities! On Saturday 7th December 2019 from 6pm bring a picnic rug and sprawl out in the park to enjoy Christmas carols, a special Movies in the Park Christmas screening of The Grinch, a fireworks extravaganza and more.
Sydney Christmas Children’s Concert
Treat your kids to a very special concert just for them! On Saturday 30th November from 6.30pm at Prince Alfred Park (Surry Hills) seasons greetings will be performed by Justine Clarke, Jimmy Giggle, SplashDance, Sesame Street and Carpe Idiotus! There's also lots of kid’s activities, table tennis, giant Jenga, showbags and a visit from Santa. Fireworks will light up the sky as the concert comes to a close. Sydney Christmas Children’s Concert is a delight. Oh yes, it's the most wonderful time of the year!
Carols In The Domain
Sing with the stars at Australia's largest FREE Christmas concert: Carols in the Domain! At this much-loved annual event on Saturday 21st December (at a family-friendly time of 7:45pm), you can expect performances from a variety of artists that will delight families of all ages. Sydney Fish Markets 36-Hour Seafood Marathon
Sydney Fish Market's 36-Hour Seafood Marathon where retailers will be staying open for 36 hours from 5am Wednesday 23rd December right through to 5pm on Christmas Eve.
Visitors can come down to enjoy the fun and frenzy of the marathon, stock up on Christmas supplies, enjoy some delicious fresh or cooked seafood, or just sit back and people-watch from the waterside boardwalk. There will be a special appearance from Santa on Monday 23rd December from 11am – 1pm and on Christmas Eve from 10am - midday.
