Bastille Festival Returns to Circular Quay

For four glorious days from 16-19 July 2026, the harbour swaps sausage sizzles for sizzling raclette, flaky croissants and enough French wine to inspire some very confident attempts at saying s'il vous plaît.

Expect pop-up bars pouring everything from Champagne to mulled wine, long tables stacked with baguettes, and the kind of cheese situation that would make a Parisian whisper magnifique.
 

There's plenty happening at the 2026 Bastille Festival beyond the eating (although, let's be honest, that's doing a lot of heavy lifting). Live music, cabaret, DJs and dance classes bring the energy, with crowds spilling between Circular Quay and The Rocks like one big open-air soirée. One minute you're watching a performance, the next you're two steps into a dance lesson, thinking, oui, oui, I absolutely meant to do that.

Best of all, entry is free — merci! — so you can wander, nibble, sip and pretend you've been transported to a French street market, all while the Opera House quietly reminds you you're still very much in Sydney.
