Sydney's Best Kid's Indoor Play Centres for Rainy Days and Summer Heat
Rain may be great for farmers, ducks and plants but it’s hard work for parents and kids! And what about those stinking hot days when you want to escape the sun? If you need some inspiration for beating the rainy day blues and sunny day meltdowns, why not head to one of Sydney’s Best Indoor Play Centres? Indoor playgrounds mean the kids get a workout, mum or dad gets a coffee and everyone stays happy. Here’s our guide to some of Sydney's best indoor playgrounds.
Monkey Mania indoor play centre at the Entertainment Quarter has play equipment for ages 1-12 and a dedicated toddlers area.
We also love Cool Cats indoor playground in Randwick, where kids are entertained for hours with inflatable games like the Leg Roll, a bucking mechanical bull, and every sized jumping castle imaginable! Please note: Cool Cats is temporarily closed.
Skyzone indoor trampoline park in Alexandria is an awesome mega indoor playground that also has indoor climbing and a ninja gym. From their ‘Little Leapers’ sessions for under 4s to adults who want to bounce and fly – Skyzone is amazing fun for all ages. There are lots of deals on offer that you can book before you visit.
Little Dynamos indoor play centre in Alexandria has a five-level themed play structure full of tunnels, climbs, tree houses, a flying fox, mazes, bridge climbs and five amazing slides! There is a foam ball arena and a separate play area for babies and toddlers.
There’s also Nubo in Alexandria - and out-of-this-world indoor playground and learning space with arts and crafts, a ball pool (with a slide), imagination room and an awesome library. Nubo's calming blue and white colour scheme and instrumental nursery rhymes playing in the background will make you feel like you've stepped into heaven.
Twinkle Kids Cafe in Burwood is similar to Nubo but more intimate - and it has lots going on for an indoor playground! There are slides, ball pits, dress-ups, supermarket play, baby pods and so much more.
Your whole family will love the funhouse that has it all including monster shakes - Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq in Alexandria. From ten-pin bowling and laser tag to arcade games and dodgem cars, this retro-inspired indoor carnival meets indoor playground is a spectacle for all ages!
Try indoor rock climbing for something different on a rainy day at the excellent Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym at St Peters. Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym has great after school, holiday and weekend programs for kids 5 and up.
There’s the fantastic Jungle Buddies indoor playground based in Five Dock – a refreshing new approach to indoor play that offers kids’ active play along with fresh food, as well as a fun party venue and fully serviced café. Please note: Jungle Buddies is temporarily closed.
Entertainment Park in Bankstown is the ultimate one-stop-shop for indoor family fun. Boasting go-karting, bowling, virtual reality, racing car simulators or traditional old-style arcade games, this family-owned and operated venue will keep your kids occupied for hours on end. There are also some unique touches such as a funky barbershop, fun-filled party shop and an on-site cafe serving up plenty of deliciousness. It really is the perfect destination to escape the rain or heat!
Kids World Playland in Bankstown is a huge multi-level indoor play centre with climbing structures, trampolines, tunnels, a cannonball battle zone and an epic inflatable slide. There is also a dedicated indoor playground for under 5s, plus a gourmet cafe and party hire. There is also a venue in Macquarie Park.
Monkey Mania in Bankstown offers an impressive 10-metre high indoor play structure - the biggest and highest in Australia - plus a jumping castle, dedicated toddler area, a cannon foam ball arena, slides and an arcade hall.
Tic Tocs Party and Playcentre in Prestons is one of Sydney’s biggest and best indoor play centres, offering unlimited fun in a safe environment. Kids will love the slippery slides, mazes, ball pit and even a game of laser tag at this indoor playground! There is also a range of interactive and fun games and rides to keep older kids entertained.
Lollipop’s Playland & Cafe in Rosehill is serious fun, with all the traditional play centre gear plus a giant rock climbing wall for the over 4’s and Code Red Laser Skirmish for the over 6’s. It has a sensory room, party rooms for birthdays, a cafe, a more importantly - a parent’s retreat. Young children 0-5 are well catered for at Kids World with trampolines and mini rock-climbing walls.
Located in Campbelltown, Shine Shed is Australia's largest all-abilities sensory play centre open to children, teens and young adults with autism and other disabilities. The purpose-built indoor play centre includes activities for those who are highly active to those who have significant physical needs, encouraging all children to develop skills and make friends in a fun, nurturing and supported setting.
If you're out and about in Wentworth Point stop in at Marina Square for a play at Cuto Kids Cafe. The darling name says it all, Cuto Kids Cafe's indoor playground is super cute and will entertain kids with plenty of imaginative play, slides, ball pits, dress ups, foam play and more, while parents can stay caffeinated at their onsite cafe.
Northern Sydney & North Shore
Monkey Mania in the Top Ryde City Shopping Centre offers an inflatable jumping castle, dedicated toddlers area, cannon foam ball arena, climbing structure, slides and electric kiddies go-karts and that all-important cafe for parents!
Also in Top Ryde City Shopping Centre, Tada Kids Cafe is one of the newer indoor play centres in Sydney and offers non-stop fun with 500 toys in their indoor playground, a kids grocery store, Lego room, arts & crafts space, nutritious cafe, racing track & more!
If your little ones are obsessed with ball pits, Planet Mino in Chatswood is indoor playground heaven! The chic indoor play centre spans across multiple levels and features playgrounds, giant slides, a sandpit, toys, crafts, LEGO, trampolines, a ginormous ball pit, and even an augmented reality play wall.
Rockhouse Indoor Climbing offers a fun, safe family activity - and it's a great way to get fit! Anyone can give it a go from three-year-olds through to grandmas. They have walls up to 10.5 metres tall and a good variety of technical climbing routes.
Cheeky Monkeys Play House in Warriewood offers a safe indoor playground for fun casual visits. The play space has awesome slides, a computer room for techno-toys, a huge kid-friendly slot-car racing circuit for mini rev heads and a dedicated toddler area. There’s also a cafe on hand for snacks and much-needed coffee.
Westfield Warringah Mall has a number of free kids play spaces including the Bubs Zone, a soft play area, handcrafted play equipment and a giant Snakes & Ladders game all located on Ground level.
Harbord Diggers has undergone a massive renovation, which includes the brand-new Harbord Diggers playground, Major Fun, which is a cool 500 square metres!
Kids World Playland at Macquarie Centre (also located at Bankstown and East Maitland) is ideal indoor play for children up to 11 years. The awesome multi-level indoor playground has climbing structures, tunnels, trampolines, cannonball battle zone, a HUGE inflatable slide and a dedicated under 5's area. Kids World Playland is air-conditioned and also offers a 'Drop & Shop' service for school-age children.
The Hill’s leading children’s indoor play centre - Lollipopsland in Castle Hill - offers a giant playframe, Airplay with foam balls cannons, Teacup Ride, inflatable jumping castles, super high walk-bridge, speed slide, bouncy slide, ball pits, dedicated toddlers area, play-believe areas, and ride-on cars section plus a dedicated toddler indoor playground. There is also a cafe, a Drop & Shop service and special events.
For an awesome five-level, forest-inspired indoor play centre, The Play Cave in Miranda comes highly recommended! It has two separate indoor playgrounds (one dedicated to toddlers) with soccer, basketball, ball pit, slides and go-karts, plus an onsite restaurant with an amazing menu.
Little Feet Cafe in Engadine is on the small side but a perfect local indoor play centre on a rainy day. They have a play structure, toddler area, jumping castle, flying fox, slides and ball pit, and offer school holiday activities, special event discos and themed party rooms. There is plenty of natural light, free wifi and a good menu.
Joshys Cafe and Play Centre in Bexley offers clean and safe indoor play for 0-12’s with an amazing three-tiered play structure with giant slides, tunnels, ball pits, flying fox and more. Unlimited play will keep your little ones happy and active while parents grab a coffee or a tasty meal.

Baby Paraiso in Hurstville is a great little cafe/playcentre for kids under 5.

I would like to recommend Tik Tocs Party and Play Center in Preston, Sydney that is a fun place for kids. Apart from that Chipmunks is also worthy of time and pleasure. Thanks

The Playhouse at Mingara recreation club is fantastic - great staff that care for kids from 6 weeks to 14 years of age - a fantastic facility for anyone visiting the central coast!
