Macquarie Fields Splash Park Set for a Colourful Upgrade – and You Can Help Shape It
Every summer, families flock to Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre to cool off, have fun and soak up the good vibes. Now, Campbelltown City Council has sketched out a colourful concept design that adds brand‑new play equipment, plenty of shady spots and heaps of thoughtful touches to make sure everyone can join in.
What Council are Proposing
Proposed upgrades and additions to the new Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre include:
- Brand new, modern equipment
- A multi-age, inclusive design
- Shade structures for sun protection
- Seating and viewing areas
- Accessibility features for children with disabilities
- Non-slip surfaces for added safety
- An upgraded filtration system.
"Every summer, this is one of Campbelltown's most popular places for people to cool off or celebrate special occasions with friends and family," says Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound. "This upgrade is our chance to make the splash park even better, and we want to hear what you'd like to see included."
Have Your Say About the New-Look Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre
Campbelltown City Council want to hear from local families about what they'd like to see at the new-look leisure centre.
Two drop‑in consultation sessions at the leisure centre – Saturday 19 July from 9 am to 11.30 am, and Monday 22 July from 3 pm to 5.30 pm – offer locals the chance to view concept images in person, chat with council staff and enjoy a free sweet treat. Online surveys are open as well, with feedback closing on Thursday 24 July 2025. After the consultation period ends, council officers will review submissions and adjust the final plan before construction timelines are announced – yippee!
While the upgrade plans are being developed, all pools and other facilities remain open, ensuring that your regular swim sessions continue uninterrupted.
