We Come From Far, Far Away is a thought-provoking tale.

We Come From Far, Far Away

There is a large tent inside the theatre. The large tent has a smaller tent inside. There is a boy inside this smaller tent.

His name is Abdallah, and he is from Syria. He wants to tell you about life, boats, tents, trains, phones, McDonalds, and Death. He also has a secret about broken promises.

Norwegian/Czech/British company NIE (New International Encounter) brings us a tale full of energy and hope for the future, based on true events. An intimate performance in a Mongolian Yurt, We Come From Far, Far Away uses storytelling, shadow puppetry, comedy, clowning, and live music to tell a big story. With humour, energy, and hope, it tells the true story of a boy and his friend in an engaging experience for children aged 10+.

Where:   The Studio, Sydney Opera House
When:    Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 May 2023
Cost:      Premium tickets from $35 | $8.50 booking fee applies per transaction
