Grug and the Rainbow

Follow the adventures of Grug as he explores the world around him – setting out to catch all the elusive colours of the rainbow so he can create his own.

Grug and the Rainbow has been created by a group of artists that shared the director's childhood love of Grug – from the lovingly crafted set and puppets designed by Jonathon Oxlade; the idiosyncratic soundscapes created by DJ TR!P; to the inventive, genuine performances of the actors that bring Grug and his friends to life.

A smash hit all over the world for ages 2 - 6, Grug and the Rainbow brings its exquisite puppetry and heart-warming humour back to delight audiences.

Josephine Wants to Dance

Calling all kids aged 3 and up! Josephine is a kangaroo who loves to dance. Despite the protests of her little brother Joey, Josephine ventures into town where the city ballet is performing Swan Lake. With the prima ballerina out injured, will all her dancing dreams come true?

Presented by Monkey Baa Theatre Company, Josephine Wants to Dance brings the beloved Australian picture book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley to life on the Opera House stage in a blockbuster musical for the whole family.

London International Animation Festival

These January school holidays, the London International Animation Festival is returning to Sydney with a collection of the best children's animations to deliver visually dazzling joy from all around the world.

The Playhouse will be transformed into a cinema for you and the family to enjoy the best of independent animation from across the globe, including stop-motion, claymation, 2D and 3D CGI and everything in between. This carefully curated program for little film critics aged 2 and 14 showcases fun adventures and wondrous tales to spark everyone's imagination.
