Things are about to get wonderfully weird at South Eveleigh, where Halloween 2026 is taking a trip down the rabbit hole!

From 20 to 31 October, Sydney's historic Locomotive Workshop precinct is getting into the spooky spirit with an Alice in Wonderland-inspired Halloween celebration. Come along and see curious characters wandering the streets, creative workshops for little monsters and plenty of opportunities to embrace your inner Mad Hatter.

With free activities and kids' workshops starting at just $5, there's plenty of Halloween fun for families without a frightening price tag!

Tea Potion Making – 20 October

Double, double, tea and trouble! Halloween festivities kick off with a free tea potion-making experience on Tuesday 20 October. Channel your inner Mad Hatter and get creative with a little tea-blending magic. It's a fun way to add some Wonderland whimsy to your lunchtime!

Meet Alice and the Tweedles – 21 & 28 October

Keep your eyes peeled for some very curious characters roaming Locomotive Street! Alice, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are escaping Wonderland and bringing their mischievous antics to South Eveleigh.

The trio will be wandering the precinct, challenging visitors with riddles that could unlock a trick or a treat. Can your little ones outsmart the Tweedles?

Halloween Trivia at BrewDog – 22 & 29 October

Think you know your Halloween trivia? Gather your cleverest crew and head to BrewDog South Eveleigh for a spooky lunchtime showdown!

There'll be a mix of general knowledge, pop culture and Halloween-themed questions, with a $250 BrewDog voucher up for grabs for the winning team. It's free to join, with teams of two to five people formed on the day.

Mad Hatter's Halloween Workshop – 24 October

Calling all little Mad Hatters! Kids aged three and over can unleash their wonderfully wild imaginations at this hands-on Halloween workshop.

Little creators will design and decorate their very own Mad Hatter-inspired hat, spooky mask or Halloween accessory to wear for the big night. 

Tickets are just $5 per child and include a $10 voucher for The Grounds Coffee Factory. With only 25 places available, bookings are essential.

Halloween Teacup Candle Making – 27 October

Here's a little Halloween magic for the grown-ups! Get crafty at the Halloween Teacup Candle Making Workshop, where you'll pour your own scented candle into a collectible cup and saucer from The Grounds Coffee Factory.

The gorgeous cup and saucer set is valued at $24.95, making the $10 workshop a rather lovely little Halloween treat. Places are limited, so don't leave your booking until the last minute.

When: Tuesday 27 October | sessions at 12.30 pm and 1.15 pm

Trick-or-Treat Bag Decorating Workshop – 31 October

No Halloween costume is complete without somewhere to stash all those treats!

On Halloween itself, little witches, ghosts and monsters aged three and over can decorate their very own trick-or-treat tote bag, ready to fill with goodies later that evening. Kids can get creative with their Halloween-inspired designs and take home a personalised bag to show off on their trick-or-treating adventures.

The workshop costs just $5 and includes a $10 voucher for The Grounds Coffee Factory. Places are capped at 25 children, so get in quick!

More Halloween Fun at BrewDog – 31 October

Still got some Halloween energy to burn? BrewDog South Eveleigh is joining the celebrations on Saturday 31 October with a family-friendly afternoon featuring some rather spooky visitors!

Dress the kids in their Halloween finest and settle in for lunch, with creepy characters making surprise appearances between midday and 2 pm. Book a table if you're planning to stay for a bite.
