City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney invites families to unleash their creativity this summer with a hands-on, screen-free adventure!

Presented by Kidwonder, this immersive event transforms the Garden Gallery into a vibrant mini-metropolis built entirely by kids using recycled materials. Bursting with wildflower-inspired colour, imagination and play, it’s the perfect way for Sydney families to connect, create and explore outdoors.

City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition – A Living City Built by Kids at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

This summer, Sydney families are invited to unplug and play in the most creative way imaginable! Following its sell-out debut at the Sydney Opera House, Kidwonder’s City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition is set to transform the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney into a vibrant, hands-on world where imagination blossoms.

Built entirely by kids using 75,000 recycled-plastic planks, this joyful experience turns children into city builders, dreamers and problem-solvers. Guided by international artist Raffaele Salvoldi, families can help shape a constantly evolving mini-metropolis – exploring wildflower-inspired installations, tackling playful building challenges and getting crafty at colouring and design stations that bring the city’s story to life.

For something extra special, families can join Wonder Workshops – small-group sessions led by Kidwonder’s expert facilitators – or take part in the VIP Artist Experience, where young creators receive behind-the-scenes access and build side-by-side with Salvoldi himself.

Swapping screens for shared creativity, City of Wonder: Wildflower Edition presented by Kidwonder is a summer adventure proving that the best family experiences don’t need Wi-Fi.
