Randwick City Council's Plant With Us – Father's Day Celebration takes over Heffron Park in Maroubra on Sunday, 6 September, inviting dads, granddads and kids to help plant native trees and groundcovers while learning how they create valuable habitat for local wildlife.

Families can choose from two sessions, running from 8.30 am to 10 am and 10.30 am to 12 pm, and each planting session includes a sustainably sourced certificate to commemorate the occasion. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves, plus a hat and sunscreen, and bring gloves and a water bottle because this is very much a hands-in-the-dirt morning. Bookings are required through Humanitix.
