5. Retro Screenings at Event Cinemas

Movie-loving dads can swap the couch for the big screen over Father's Day weekend, with Event Cinemas bringing three classics back to cinemas from 4 to 6 September 2026.

Marsden Brewhouse is one to keep on the Father's Day radar for Western Sydney families, particularly if Dad likes his celebrations served with barbecue, beer and plenty happening for the kids.

SRG Hospitality is spreading the Father's Day feasting across Sydney in 2026, with waterfront breakfasts, long lunches and relaxed à la carte options at venues from Manly to Cronulla.

Breakfast packages at Ripples Chowder Bay, Ripples Rose Bay, Riva Rose Bay, Summer Salt, The Fenwick, Sails Lavender Bay and Ripples Little Manly include sparkling wine, fruit and pastries, a choice of hot main plus tea and coffee, with adult prices from $55 to $65.

 12. Plant With Us – Father's Day Celebration, Maroubra

Give the usual socks-and-chocolates routine a miss and spend Father's Day planting something that will actually stick around. Randwick City Council's Plant With Us – Father's Day Celebration takes over Heffron Park in Maroubra on Sunday, 6 September, inviting dads, granddads and kids to help plant native trees and groundcovers while learning how they create valuable habitat for local wildlife.

Families can choose from two sessions, running from 8.30 am to 10 am and 10.30 am to 12 pm, and each planting session includes a sustainably sourced certificate to commemorate the occasion. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves, plus a hat and sunscreen, and bring gloves and a water bottle because this is very much a hands-in-the-dirt morning.
