Best Kid-Friendly Cafes Around St George And The Sutherland Shire
The Shire is known for its beachside beauty and friendly locals and is a very popular place for families. We’ve rounded up our best kid-friendly cafes in the Shire and a hop across the bridge in the St George area so you and your family can enjoy all that the Shire and surrounds has to offer.
If you like good coffee, a French-inspired seasonal menu and a large outdoor play area to keep the wriggliest of little humans at bay, then you must try Bitton at Oatley.
There is a great kids menu (the kids' French crepes are a hit), a little cubby house, wonderful Grinders coffee and a great family vibe with excellent service. With plenty of on-street parking and close to the main strip of shops and a walk from local parks, Bitton is a great family friendly cafe option.

COOK at Kurnell
This place is loved by young and old (and everyone in between). On the sandy shores of Silver Beach you can relax in the Mediterranean/Miami summer vibe with seaside views. Kids will love the play area where they can kick off their shoes and play in the sand and parents will love the easy breezy menu with cocktails to enjoy as the sun sets over Botany Bay. COOK at Kurnell is a hidden gem that all kid-friendly venues should aspire to!

If you like a brunch with a view then Zimzala is the one for you. With Cronulla beach footsteps away, Zimzala is a great place to unwind with excellent coffee and delectable food, whilst the kids watch the sand, surf, and seagulls out of the large window. There is also a great kids menu on offer and the place is always packed with little ones.
Cronulla Park is just up the hill and accessible with prams. It has a beautiful shaded play area suitable for toddlers and older kids alike, with a number of small and larger slides. There’s also a Woolworths across the road (so you can sneak in the grocery shop), and other small speciality stores and ice cream shops, which call for a nice stroll post-brunch.

The Teahouse Camellia Gardens
The Teahouse at Camellia Gardens is a hidden gem in the Sutherland Shire, known for its scones, awesome home-made tea blends and lush garden setting. It is located within the beautiful Camellia Gardens, which hosts over 400 types of plants, beautiful ponds, places to get close to the ducks and feed them, and two great playgrounds. One is situated right near The Teahouse at the top of the gardens which means a perfect play for the kids post milkshake.
The Teahouse serves delicious breakfast and lunch, as well as Devonshire and High-Teas including a fabulous kids High-Tea menu. *High-Teas must be pre-booked.

Queens Pastri House
A haven for mums and dads needing a gourmet pastry hit, Queens Pastri House is a charming French cafe with a beautiful vibe- it could almost be mistaken for a patisserie in Paris!
Whilst there’s no kids play area, the line up of pretty cupcakes, croughnuts, and pain au chocolates will keep most kids entertained whilst you enjoy a delicious coffee. Not to mention the milkshakes served in bear jars- definitely a hit with the kids.
The menu changes regularly but expect to find options like doughnuts filled with Nutella or homemade blueberry jam, and a fig or raspberry and pistachio tart – yum. There’s also your traditional eggs and bacon brekky available.
For little ones obsessed with trucks, the busy Rocky Point Road provides lots of truck and bus watching on the weekend so grab a window seat, a hot coffee and sit back and relax at Queens Pastri House.

Edmonds & Greer
Edmonds & Greer is an all-in-one destination tucked away on a quiet, tree-lined street in Oatley. It has a welcoming village-like atmosphere with impeccable service, and a beautiful shop attached to it (hello beautiful scented candles, gorgeous homewares and unique kids gifts).
As you sit down, your children will be greeted with a friendly waiter or waitress asking them what their favourite colouring page is, and they will then be taken to select some toys to take to their table and play with. Now that’s kid-friendly service!
A great spot for breakfast or lunch with healthy, colourful culinary creations at great cafe prices, and an excellent kids menu. Desserts are also renown at Edmonds & Greer with tempting delights baked daily on display atop the oak sideboard. There are also many kid-friendly themed cupcakes and cookies and pretty doughnuts and macaroons.
Whilst you wait for your meals, you can scan the homewares store, and once done you are only a pram-friendly walk away from local parks. Edmonds & Greer is a hidden gem that will keep the whole family happy.

With big windows, a sweeping terrace with views through the pine trees to Cronulla beach, Nuns Pool is a popular family-friendly cafe in the Shire.
Across the road is a beautiful playground at Shelly Park and you are metres away from a beautiful and picturesque coastal walk. Serving wholesome, healthy, and delicious breakfast and lunch dishes, excellent coffee and a great kids menu, Nun’s Pool is a great choice for families.
