St Marys Central Park is a $26.5 million council and NSW Government project set to become the civic heart of the St Marys Town Centre, complete with a dedicated children's playspace featuring a cool water play feature.

St Marys Central Park: What Families Can Expect

The new Central Park will sit at the centre of St Marys, linking Queen Street, Coachmans Park, Ripples Leisure Centre and the surrounding shopping precinct into one connected destination.

For families, the standout feature is the new and exciting fenced playground with water play, alongside lawn areas, shaded pathways, new trees and lighting designed for evening use.
 

Beyond the playground, the park is designed as a genuine community gathering space, with an entertainment area built for local and regional performers. Families can get excited about upcoming markets, live music, outdoor performances and community events, on top of everyday picnic and play visits.

Where and Why

St Marys Central Park is part of the broader Revitalise Penrith initiative, tied to the St Marys Town Centre Structure Plan and timed alongside the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport rail line, which begins construction in St Marys.

Council's aim is to give the town centre a proper civic anchor, drawing residents and visitors in rather than through.

Timeline & Opening Date

Construction tenders were awarded in February 2026, with park construction beginning mid-2026 and detailed design being finalised around the same time. Council is targeting an opening in early to mid 2028.
