A Roarsome Day Out at Sydney Zoo

Let mum go wild at Sydney Zoo.

For the wildlife-loving mum, swing into the open-plan surrounds of Sydney Zoo for a day of exploring. Located in Bungarribee, Sydney Zoo is the only combined zoo and aquarium in NSW, and boasts the largest Reptile and Nocturnal House in the world.

There may even be some unique animal encounters for Mum if you check the schedule in advance. The zoo is perfect for exploring on foot, with plenty of room to see the animals in their natural environment.

Oh, and did you know that three adorable quokkas have officially moved into Sydney Zoo?  Known worldwide as “the happiest animals in the world,” mum might be just as happy after seeing these cuties up close.

Take a Picnic to Bungarribee Park

The playground that shines as much as mum, Bungarribee Park.

For a relaxed Mother’s Day in the sunshine, take the family to the awesome adventure playground and parkland, Bungarribee Park. It’s an expansive 200-hectare park featuring wide-open spaces and bike trails, a dog park and one of our favourite Sydney playgrounds. This beauty has a 14-metre high climbing tower, thrilling slides, a flying fox, swings and water play equipment. If you’re not in the mood for packing a picnic, check out Harvey's Social - a family and pet-friendly cafe to enjoy a casual meal.

Go for a Nature Walk at Nurragingy Reserve

Enjoy the natural delights of Nurragingy Reserve.

We love the new, inclusive playspace at Nurragingy Reserve. Also known as Wawai Ngurra Inclusive Adventure Playspace, the new playground was designed in collaboration with Variety - the Children’s Charity.

Take mum on a bushwalk through the sprawling natural bushland reserve with a picturesque lake, several playgrounds, a miniature railway, water play, the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens, and plenty of beautiful spots for a picnic or BBQ.
