John Wearn Reserve in Carlingford is practically unrecognisable after receiving a whopping 5.2-million-dollar refurbishment in 2020 and we're most excited about the cool new playground.

The new-look John Wearn Playground has a pretty impressive new look, new play equipment, new features and even a cool new safari theme. Sydney kids are going wild for the new playground, so you'd better hurry and go for a play.

Listen to the African animals roaring as you walk past them.

For those who remember the old John Wearn Playground well, say goodbye to the red, yellow and green jungle gym and say hello to a complete jungle safari, roaring animals included! The upgrades to John Wearn Reserve have been designed with Africa in mind. The 'Jungle' Nature Playground features timber play equipment, a timber tower with a slide, swings, a funky bamboo tunnel, stepping logs, a teepee, climbing ropes, and plenty of lawn for picnics. But the stand-out feature of the new playground is the stationary Safari animals that actually roar as you walk past them!

Perfect for little skater boys and girls to go for a spin, the John Wearn skate ramps are state-of-the-art and attracting plenty of eager Sydney kids keen to skate up a storm.

Don't worry parents, your fitness hasn't been forgotten! There's a new fitness station towards the bottom of the reserve (along Farnell Avenue) for all your exercise needs.
