Bradbury Park: A Playground Like No Other

Even looking good under construction in 2022.

In the heart of Kedron, Bradbury Park, a well-loved hub of community activities like netball, lawn bowls, cricket practice, and Girl Guides, is about to enhance its offerings. An innovative playscape, brimming with nature-themed fun, is now making its debut among Brisbane's playgrounds!

The Exciting New Features

Look at the size of that slide! Dare we say... adult size?

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner announced the impressive features this new playground in Brisbane boasts including a diverse assortment of towers, obstacles, and bridges of all shapes and sizes. Parents can rest easy knowing these playgrounds prioritise safety, sturdiness, and educational stimulation, aiming to develop essential skills beyond digital screens.

Green Additions for Older Children and Community

Nestled amongst existing trees, a large play area is being designed to challenge and entertain older children. Additional amenities include a modern toilet block, connecting pathways, a car park with 53 spaces, a basketball half-court, and picnic facilities complete with electric barbecues.

Brisbane City Council's Future Plans

The Brisbane City Council has grand plans to enrich the city with more nature-themed parks. Hanlon Park, Stones Corner, and Warril Parkland in Larapinta will feature similar fun amenities, marking an expansion in the portfolio of Brisbane playgrounds.

The Biological City Concept

With heights like these, we can see why they call it a 'mini-theme park'.

Bradbury Park's new playscape represents a “biological city,” a concept that draws inspiration from the natural habitats of local lorikeets. It promises to introduce an element of mystery and exploration to Brisbane playgrounds.

Catering to All Ages

Designed to cater to a broad age range, the park will feature areas like the 'Magic Forest' for younger ones and a 200-metre scooter track for both beginners and advanced riders.

With this new playground, Brisbane is upping the ante in the realm of fun and play. Make sure to pay a visit to Kedron's Bradbury Park for an unforgettable day of fun and adventure!
