When you name your new restaurant the Good Place, it probably comes as no surprise that patrons are a little curious by the name, or more particularly the word “Good”. By Good do you mean Good location? Good opening hours? Good people? For fitness fanatic turned My Kitchen Rules contestant, Scott Gooding, the Good Place is both a quirky nod to his last name and a representation of good, wholesome and gluten-free food. Sounds good to us.

With 1 in every 100 people in Australia intolerant to gluten, opening a 100% gluten-free chain of restaurants is just what the doctor ordered. The first of Gooding’s 7 the Good Place restaurants has opened its doors in Miranda Westfield and is already proving a huge hit, not only with gluten-intolerant patrons but also with gluten-free fans. And with one look at the menu, we can see why. 12-hour slow-cooked lamb with roast potatoes and Cafe de Paris butter anyone? Other mouth-watering favourites on the menu include creamy vegan curries, green pea fritters with coconut and mint yoghurt, and pumpkin bread bruschetta.
Sourcing all of the fresh produce himself, Scott’s menu is a strictly paddock-to-plate operation, right down to the delicious desserts and certified organic wines behind the bar. With a background in health and fitness, a handful of successful food and lifestyle books, plus that stint on MKR, it's safe to say Scott knows a thing or two about healthy and wholesome eating.
The Good Place will be popping up in locations across NSW and Qld in the coming months, so stay tuned.
