Upgrades on the Way For Shannons Paddock District Playground

Shannons Paddock District Playground
The draft plan for the new playground.

Located on Darcy Road near the border of Westmead and Wentworthville, this unique spot is about to become your new favourite hangout.

Inspired by the historic Shannon's Brick, Tile, and Pottery Factory that operated from 1912 to 1982, the revamped playground will feature a cool high ropes course built into a replica of the old factory. Adventurous kids are set to have a blast sliding down a "cool" polished concrete slide, scaling a climbing wall, and swinging through the air—all while surrounded by the shady trees.

For the little adventurers, there'll be in-ground trampolines, low ropes courses, and cubby houses at ground level. And, of course, two epic swing sets (including a basket swing) are part of the deal. With picnic tables, a barbecue, and loads of seating, parents can relax while the kids explore every inch of this fun-filled space.

Plus, the design keeps the playground nestled under those gorgeous, mature trees, so there's plenty of shade on those sunny days. Throw in some heritage brick and stone balance blocks, and you've got yourself a playground that's equal parts history lesson and adventures!
