Richard Murden Reserve: Inner West❜s Largest Inclusive Playground
Have you been to Richard Murden Reserve yet? Because if not, you need to get there, asap!
Everything You Need to Know About Richard Murden Reserve
They've completely upgraded the playground in Haberfield — it's on Hawthorne Parade right along the river — and honestly, it's become one of those places you'll want to go back to every weekend.
The new and inclusive Richard Murden Reserve was built by the Touched by Olivia Foundation in accordance with the NSW "Everyone Can Play" guidelines. And with help from the Inner West Council ($1.9 million to be exact), it's a pretty impressive new playground to say the least.
There's a whopping sixteen hectares of park, so there's room to actually breathe. Plus, tennis courts, walking paths, and picnic spots. And then the new playground, which is where everyone is ending up. There's a very well-designed sensory walkway and quiet zones for kids who get overwhelmed easily. Plus slides, climbing towers, swings, and in-ground trampolines for the kids who want to go absolutely wild.
What we love the most is that the whole playground is fenced in. For parents with kids who love to bolt at any opportunity, this is an absolutely game changer!
With accessible toilets, heaps of shade, BBQ facilities, picnic tables and bike racks, you can genuinely spend the whole morning there without anyone melting down because they're too hot or need a snack or can't find somewhere to sit.
Go this weekend. Bring snacks. We guarantee you'll stay longer than you planned!
