Opening Soon: Kilpack Park Playground

There is little that gets us as excited as a hot-off-the-press impending park upgrade, and news of Kilpack Park in Carlingford's imminent glow-up is no exception.

According to Parramatta Council, the existing playground has reached the end of its life, and the vision for a new play space has been well and truly reimagined.

Kilpack Park Carlingford in Line For Major Upgrade

New Playground at Kilpack Park Carlingford
The new playground has a very familiar Dr Seuss vibe...

Maybe we've read one too many of his books and call us crazy, but we think the new Kilpack Park has a very Dr Seuss vibe!

Coming in hot to the existing space on Darwin St, Carlingford, Kilpack Park has undergone a mega $1.55m facelift that was funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program in collaboration with the City of Parramatta Council.

As an overview, the project includes:

  • Brand new play equipment
  • Upgraded playground safety surfacing with new rubber soft fall
  • Fitness equipment for adults to enjoy
  • Beautiful new landscaping with moisture-loving native grasses
  • Wider pathways for better street connections
  • Enhanced lighting along all pathways for added evening security
  • Protection for existing Blue Gum trees during the upgrades

Local council has compiled this plan after listening to the community's ideas and themes for the new play equipment. The updated plan features unique and challenging options for older children, which is something that came up a lot in conversations with residents.

The New Play Equipment

But here's what you really wanna know: what play equipment can you expect after the upgrade? Here's the lowdown.

  • A double slide for young children
  • Balance beams and logs
  • Tree-house play tower with climbing nets and a giant slide
  • Triple swing set with a basket swing and a toddler seat

And for the parents, there's even new fitness equipment!

Kilpack Park Location & Opening Date

The new playground is at 28 Darwin Street, Carlingford.

The original opening date of June 2026 has been pushed back to July 2026. Watch this space and keep an eye on the website!
