The Hunter Valley Gardens is a naturally beautiful venue in the heart of the Hunter Valley Wine Country.

Take a drive to The Gardens for a spectacular day trip or make it a mini break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Gardens offer great dining options, beautiful garden views, shopping village and amazing events for families.

The Gardens

Soak up the stunning natural environment of The Gardens over eight kilometres of walking paths through 14 hectars of gardens consisting of over 6000 trees, 600,000 shrubs and over 1 million ground cover plants, plus waterfalls, statues, murals and much more. The ten individually themed gardens showcase the artistry of gardens around the world and use both native and exotic varieties of plants.

One of the family-favourites is The Storybook Garden. This magical garden features nursery rhyme characters such as Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill and Alice in Wonderland, to name a few.

The Gardens also transform with the seasons, adding a bit of Xmas snow in December, spectacular Christmas lights and Snow Time over the Winter months.

Events Throughout The Year

The Garden's signature events are renowned within the region and attended by visitors from across the country. Their Christmas Lights Spectacular was the first event held at the Garden and now in it’s 10th year!

Snow Time in the Gardens, Mega Creatures and our Easter Hunt are popular with families and fun for all ages. The Rose Spectacular and Spring Time in the Garden are also popular events.

Dining Options

Hunter Valley Gardens has several dining options on offer for visitors and guests. Within the gardens you’ll find The Garden Terrace, which features alfresco dining overlooking the Oriental Garden, if you’re after a more lively option Harrigan’s Irish Pub is a short drive away and offers relaxed family friendly dining. Plus, our Shopping Village also has a selection of cafes for quick and tasty meals.

The rides

The Gardens have now installed rides that are part of The Gardens as a permanent feature and are open during events and in the school holidays.

Shopping Village

Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village is a unique collection of bespoke shops offering everything from delicious meals, lunchtime treats, coffee and wine to stunning glassware, jewellery, unique clothing and divine candles.
