Secret Sydney: Darook Park Beach

  • Mums & Bubs

If you've never heard of Darook Park Beach, you have been missing out! Locals call this little slice of paradise the most beautiful beach in the world, and we can certainly see why.

Darook Park
Darook Park is in the Sutherland Shire and is, in our totally biased opinion, one of the best beach spots in Sydney!

What Makes Darook Park Beach So Special?

Calm waters, plenty of shade, and even the chance to catch the sunset in the afternoon are just a few of the reasons why we love Darook Beach so much. The calm waters at Darook Park mean the little ones are free to splash about to their heart's content. Darook Park is also one of the few west-facing beaches in Sydney, so you can watch the sunset over the water as you look out over Gunamatta Bay.

Are Dogs Allowed At Darook Park Beach?

While it's not strictly a dog-friendly beach, we often see lots of pups frolicking in the calm waters.

Coffee Nearby?

We recommend getting takeaway coffee from the nearby Little Parrot cafe, just a 10 minute walk away.

Warning: locals have pointed out that there are often stingrays about so be careful when going for a dip in the water.

Address: Find it just off Darook Park Road, Cronulla. There is also access via Nicholson Parade.
