Tuning in to Kids™ Parenting Program - Develop Your Child❜s Emotional Intelligence

Discover the power of emotional intelligence with Tuning in to Kids™, a parenting program designed to help children learn to understand and regulate their emotions. Join us for this transformative program that will give you the tools to help your child succeed in life.

Facilitated as a group coaching model, Tuning in to Kids™ is conducted under the license of the University of Melbourne. This program teaches parents about emotional intelligence and how to help their children develop good emotional skills. Studies have shown that good emotional intelligence is associated with better emotional, social, and physical functioning in children, as well as fewer behavioral difficulties.

In this intensive 4-step model, you'll learn how to assist your child in verbalizing and managing their emotions, problem-solving, and appropriately guiding their behavior. The program involves watching video material, group discussions and exercises, role plays, reading the information, and home activities where you try out different ways of responding to your child's emotions. Participating parents are encouraged to share experiences and ideas within the group, and group leaders may use these as examples to explain and teach the skills of emotion coaching.

The typical facilitation of the Tuning in to Kids™ program is one session per week for six weeks, but The Poppet Centre has created an intensive program that condenses the material into one full day of theory and group coaching. You'll also receive one 90-minute individual coaching session, participate in voluntary peer group open-ended coaching with other past participants, and have a final 90-minute review coaching session.
