Telstra payphones are free for all calls within Australia, and from 20 November until Christmas Eve 2024, you can Call Santa for FREE.

For a special experience that will bring some extra joy and magic to the festive season, children around Australia can connect to Santa for a Christmas chat, just by dialling # HO HO HO (# 46 46 46) from any of Telstra's 14,000+ payphones nationwide.

You can call right up until Christmas Eve when he starts to pack his sleigh for the big trip around the world to deliver all the gifts in time for Christmas morning.

Plus, Telstra has also introduced its first-ever kid-sized Telstra payphone, designed for the littlest Aussie callers who might find regular handsets hard to reach. These will be set up in select Telstra Stores, giving little ones their very own special way to reach the North Pole.

How To Call Santa

Telstra has made it super easy for anyone to get in touch with the big man in red this year:

  1. Head to any Telstra payphone until 24 December. There are over 14,000 regular-sized payphones across the country you can find using the Telstra payphone finder on Telstra.com or Google Maps.
  2. Dial # HO HO HO (# 46 46 46) - and make sure you’re ready with a few questions for Santa, and tell him what’s on your wish list!  
  3. You’ll be put in direct contact with Santa’s switchboard.

Free calls to Santa is not only a fun and free festive activity but is also a great way to teach your kids how to use and locate a payphone, which can make a world of difference, particularly during an emergency.
