Sydney Marathon 2023
Lace up your running shoes or cheer from the sidelines as The Sydney Marathon returns on Sunday, 17 September 2023! Join thousands of participants and spectators at one of Australia's most thrilling sporting events, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sydney's iconic landmarks, from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Sydney Opera House.
Formerly known as the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival, the Sydney Marathon is back, bigger, and better than ever. We offer four unforgettable courses across four distances: the Full Sydney Marathon, the 21.1km Half Marathon, the 10km run, and the Family Fun Run (3.5km), all catering to various fitness levels.
This year, we've enhanced the course with fewer 180-degree bends and more roadways, promising a smoother marathon experience. We've also extended the cut-off time to 7 hours to support casual and first-time marathon runners.
The celebration doesn't stop at the finish line. Join us at the Sydney Marathon Post Race Recovery Village located in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Here, participants and spectators can unwind and celebrate with a variety of food outlets, live entertainment, brand activations, and stunning harbour views.
In its second year of the evaluation process by the Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM), Sydney Marathon is shaping up to become a must-experience event for both local and international runners.
