Centennial Parklands has a range of holiday programs for the winter school holidays - a combination of drop-off or join-in programs for children and their parents. These programs are fun and educational and encourage kids to connect and learn in nature, from exploring the superpowers of nature in Park Science, mastering survival skills and fire craft with bushrangers, or embarking on an exciting after−dark spotlight prowl with the family.
Park Science - Nature's Superpowers

Birds inspired the design of airplanes, did you know? Can you think of any examples of nature inspiring science innovation?
Through exploration and discovery, children will understand how we can utilise our knowledge of nature to create incredible scientific innovations. We will introduce children to the concept of Biomimicry, which is typically defined as innovation inspired by nature, using it as a basis for scientific innovation. In this fun-filled, full-day program, children will enjoy hands-on activities, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to create nature-inspired inventions.
Participants are encouraged to bring their thinking cap, imagination, and sense of adventure to this STEM Program.
This is a drop-off program for children aged 5-12 years, and parents do not attend with their children.
NOTE: This program will go ahead in all weather except high winds, so please come prepared with wet weather gear. Children must wear enclosed shoes.
Where: The WILD PLAY Discovery Centre Dickens Dr, Centennial Park

Activities are designed to allow children to play outside and take part in problem-solving and cooperative challenges.
Your child will get to know the art of fire crafts – learn how to light a fire from a spark without matches and make some delicious damper and campfire treats!
This drop-off program is a firm holiday favourite for children ages 5-12 years, and parents do not attend with their children.
NOTE: In the event bush fire ratings are above low, we are not allowed to light fires and will change the content of the program to shelter building, outdoor challenges, and free play.
