Penrith Show 2026
The Penrith Show is back for another huge weekend in Sydney's west, and it's shaping up to be one of the biggest dates on the family calendar this August.
Established in 1845, this is one of the region's longest-running agricultural shows, and it still delivers everything that makes a proper country show worth the trip: sideshow alley rides, animal nurseries, woodchopping, ring events, live entertainment and a market packed with stallholders.
What's On at the 2026 Penrith Show
For Sydney families, it's a rare chance to give the kids a taste of country show culture without leaving the city.
Little ones can wander through the animal pens and get hands-on with farmyard favourites, while older kids and teens will be drawn to the rides and sideshow games. Add in showbags, food stalls and fireworks, and the Penrith Show can fill an entire day easily, whether you're there for a few hours or making a weekend of it!
The show also doubles as a genuine community event, drawing local clubs, producers and businesses from across Western Sydney, so there's a strong local flavour to the stalls and entertainment on offer alongside the bigger show attractions.
