Hawkesbury Fest 2026
Governor Phillip Park in Windsor is about to host one of Sydney's biggest free family days out. Hawkesbury Fest returns on Sunday 9 August from 10 am to 3 pm, drawing an expected 10,000 people for what's billed as NSW's biggest celebration of Local Government Week.
What's On at the 2026 Hawkesbury Fest
Local markets and community stalls fill the park alongside emergency services displays, live music and food vans. A giant slide keeps the little ones entertained between stalls, and there's plenty of entertainment scheduled throughout the day.
New for 2026: A Sports Zone and Parkour Course
This year brings two fresh additions worth planning around. A brand-new sports zone will let kids try their hand at netball, cricket, AFL, soccer and swimming with local clubs, plus there's a community performance stage. A parkour course also joins the lineup for the first time, giving older kids and teens something a little more adventurous to burn energy on.
Entry is completely free. Governor Phillip Park and the boat ramp will be closed to traffic from 5 am to 6 pm on the day, so plan to walk, cycle or get dropped off rather than drive in. Families with accessibility needs can look out for staff wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower badge for extra support on the day.
