Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival 2026 at Auburn Botanic Gardens
Who said you have to go to Japan to be treated to the magic of cherry blossoms? Sydney's famous Cherry Blossom Festival at Auburn Botanic Gardens returns in 2026 to usher in the beauty of spring after a chilly winter, and we can't wait!
What's On at the 2026 Cherry Blossom Festival
More than 200 cherry trees will burst into bloom across the Japanese Gardens, creating winding pathways framed by soft pink flowers and plenty of beautiful spots for family photos. The nine-day festival will run daily from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
Explore the Cherry Blossoms
The blossoms are the stars of the festival, turning one of Western Sydney's loveliest gardens into a sea of pink. Families can stroll beneath the flowering branches, explore the peaceful Japanese Gardens and see how many resident peacocks they can spot along the way.
Blossoms are seasonal and sensitive to the weather, so each visit can look a little different. Whether the trees are covered in fluffy blooms or scattering pink petals across the paths, there should be plenty of gorgeous scenery to enjoy.
Japanese Food, Culture and Entertainment
The festival celebrates Japanese culture alongside the annual floral display. The 2026 program is set to include traditional performances, contemporary music and pop-culture experiences, along with authentic Japanese food and market stalls.
The full program has yet to be released, but families can look forward to a lively day filled with entertainment, delicious bites and a colourful festival atmosphere!
