Lunar Celebration Weekend 2026

Celebrating the Year of the Horse, Chatswood's headline Lunar Celebration Weekend on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February 2026 features more than 130 bustling market stalls spread across Victoria Avenue from Chatswood Interchange to Archer Street. Soak up the mouth-watering aromas and global flavours as you wander, snack and sample your way through the weekend.

Head to The Concourse for two full days of outdoor entertainment showcasing an impressive mix of traditional and modern performances. The stage program features everything from classical Asian music and the soothing sounds of the guzheng to energetic pop, Latin dance and K-pop performances.

Across the precinct, roving entertainers and smooth acoustic sets will continue the festive vibes, while the kids enjoy the jumping castle and pony rides!

Iconic lion dances are a major highlight, with two large-scale performances bringing Anderson Street to life with sound, movement and colour, and the signature Lantern Parade will be held on Saturday, bursting with colourful groups, dancers, floats and vehicles passing by.

What Else Is on at Chatswood's Year Of The Horse Festival?

Alongside the Lunar Celebration Weekend, the program weaves together intimate and interactive experiences, including Lunar New Year Storytime for little listeners, a special 20th anniversary screening of Jet Li’s Fearless paired with a live Chinese Music Ensemble, and the much-loved Lunar New Year Wishing Tree, where hopes for the year ahead take centre stage.

Budding performers can cheer on the next generation at the Nova Star Youth Talent Competition, while hands-on workshops invite creativity through Chinese folding fan painting and a dried flower frame workshop inspired by the season.
