Festival of Lights

Westfield Miranda is turning after-dark shopping into an underwater adventure when the Festival of Lights returns!

Dive Into an Underwater Light Display

Festival of Lights at Westfield Miranda
Festival of Lights returns to Westfield Miranda in July 2026.

Westfield Miranda will glow with ocean-inspired illuminations, playful entertainment and plenty of activities designed to lure families out of the house after dark. Follow shimmering sea creatures through the dining precincts, hunt for hidden treasures and grab a luminous sweet treat before settling in for dinner.

The Festival of Lights is bringing an underwater world to Westfield Miranda, with glowing installations adding a little deep-sea magic to winter nights. Kids can keep an eye out for luminous turtles and seahorses as they explore the centre. The displays make an easy evening outing for families, especially when paired with dinner or a warm dessert from one of the nearby restaurants.

Meet the Glowing Performers

The creatures wandering through this underwater world are surprisingly good dancers. LED turtles and seahorses will roam the Level 3 Kingsway and Level 4 Rooftop dining precincts on selected evenings. Families may also encounter an LED hula hoop performer or catch the Disco Ball Dancers sparkling their way through the crowd.

Roaming entertainment will run from 6 pm to 9 pm on selected Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the festival.

Follow the Festival Scavenger Hunt

Young explorers can collect a scavenger hunt map and search for the hidden items scattered around the festival.

Complete the hunt and kids can redeem a complimentary pirate hat or add a mermaid clip to their braids. Giveaways are available while stocks last, so arriving earlier in the evening is a smart move.

The scavenger hunt will run from 5 pm to 8 pm from Thursday to Saturday.

Get Creative Under the Sea

The opening weekend kicks off on 16 July and will include under-the-sea craft workshops for kids, with sessions running from 5 pm to 8 pm Thursday to Saturday.

Bookings will be required for the workshops, with session details set to be released by Westfield Miranda closer to the event.

Glow-in-the-Dark Face Painting

Glow-in-the-dark face painting will turn little faces into bright festival artworks from 6 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

There will also be daytime face painting sessions on Sundays from 11 am to 2 pm, which is handy for younger children who prefer their adventures before bedtime.

Fairy Floss With a Bright Twist

Festival fairy floss will receive its own glowing makeover from Thursday to Saturday between 6 pm and 9 pm.

Grab a luminous cloud of sugar, watch the entertainers drift past and see how long it takes before someone ends up wearing half of it.

Stay for a Family Dinner

The light installations are spread around Westfield Miranda's dining precincts, making the festival easy to combine with a family meal.

Westfield members will also be able to access selected dining deals through a Bonus Bites Pass. Families planning to eat during the busier evening sessions may want to book their chosen restaurant ahead of time.
