Grab your sunnies and your pinkest outfit, because The Grounds of Alexandria has swapped its usual green for glamour. Barbie™ x Megan Hess has taken over the laneways this winter, turning every corner into a fashion moment worthy of Barbie™'s own closet.

Step Into Barbie's Dreamland at The Grounds of Alexandria

The installation pairs Barbie™'s decades of style legacy with the illustrated world of Megan Hess, the fashion artist known for bringing glossy, dreamlike detail to everything she draws. Together they've built a laneway experience packed with oversized bows, glamorous vignettes and enough pink to make Barbie™'s Dreamhouse jealous! Families get an exclusive global first look at pages from Megan's new book collection, which officially launches in September.

What Families Can Expect

Wander the laneways, and you'll find illustrations that seem to have stepped straight off the page. Fashion-inspired backdrops sit around every turn, built for photos, giggles and a little Barbie™-fuelled imagination. Kids and parents alike can spot fashion moments inspired by Barbie™'s most iconic looks, all rendered through Megan's signature elegant style.

Then there's the menu! Cake Couture brings a strawberry-and-cream mini cake topped with a collectible Barbie™ illustration. The Hot Chocolate Handbag is a creamy white hot chocolate dressed up with marshmallows and fairy floss, and comes in a mug you can take home. Pavlova in Pink serves up raspberry and dragon fruit with a sorbet that looks almost too good to eat. For the grown-ups, the Fashionable Fizz is a sparkling pink soda made for sharing, while the Pink Dreamshake piles fairy floss and a macaron on top of a strawberry rose milkshake.

Good to Know Before You Go

Access to the Barbie™ x Megan Hess laneways is reserved for diners only, so book a table at The Cafe, The Garden or The Potting Shed and hold onto your receipt. There's no extra cost to explore once you've dined.

The laneways are open-air, pram-friendly and welcome well-behaved dogs on leads. And with no time limit once you're in, there's plenty of room to wander, snap and soak up every pink detail!
