Easter in Nature at Centennial Parklands
It's the season for change! The weather is cooling down, the leaves are changing colors and animals are getting ready for colder days head. Welcome to autumn in Sydney - the perfect time to visit the picturesque Centennial Parklands.
Easter in Nature at Centennial Parklands
Over the Easter long weekend, families are invited to come and celebrate Australia's native plants and animals in a fun-filled and educational program: Easter in Nature 2023. Through storytelling, nature-based games, and art projects, children will be introduced to beautiful local flora and fauna, and explore the park with the experienced Centennial Parklands education team.
During this fascinating one-hour program, your little nature lovers will discover the beauty of their environment, follow trail maps, meet some of the park's wild inhabitants, and connect with Mother Nature.
During storytime, kids will discover how the turtle found her lost egg and how they can protect freshwater turtles. They will also be immersed in a Hungry Goanna Game where they get the eggs out of Goanna's hands before he sees them! During craft time, kids can create their own Aussie animals using clay and loose parts. Plus, there will be a native Australian animal 'egg hunt' to weave in the Easter spirit and help the Australian egg-laying animals find their missing eggs. Little adventurers can match the right egg with the right animal by following the animal tracks!
Please note: There is no traditional chocolate egg hunt at Centennial Parklands this year, as it has an environmental impact on the flora and fauna. Each child will receive a small chocolate gift for participating.
Where: The WILD PLAY Discovery Centre, Centennial Parklands,
When: Sat 8 and Sun 9 April
Cost: $20 per ticket | Tickets include participation for 1 child and 1 carer.
