Christmas Concert at Taronga Zoo 2026

Christmas is getting a wild makeover at Taronga Zoo! Christmas Live at Taronga 2026 is back on Saturday 5 December, bringing a magical evening of festive entertainment to Sydney's famous harbourside zoo.

With celebrity host Matty J, live performances from The Mik Maks and the Australian Girls Choir, plus a special visit from Santa himself, this year's celebration is shaping up to be a Christmas cracker for Sydney families. And here's an extra treat: every Christmas Live ticket includes FREE entry to Taronga Zoo from 2-5 pm, so families can squeeze in an afternoon of animal adventures before the Christmas festivities begin.

A Magical Night of Music, Santa and Zoo Adventures

This year's Christmas Concert at Taronga has a fresh new lineup, with much-loved TV personality and dad of three Matty J taking on hosting duties for the very first time.

Little Christmas lovers will be thrilled to see The Mik Maks bringing their energetic live show to the stage, complete with festive favourites, original songs and their furry friend, Drums the Panda.

The talented Australian Girls Choir will also spread Christmas cheer with beautiful carols, while Santa and his elves make a special appearance straight from the North Pole!

A Christmas Picnic With a Harbour View

With the spectacular Sydney Harbour skyline as your backdrop, Taronga's Concert Lawns are a gorgeous spot to settle in for an evening of Christmas fun.

Bring a picnic rug, find your patch of grass and enjoy the festive entertainment as the sun goes down. Families can bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks in sealed containers, or purchase refreshments from the Bakehouse Bar and Saltwater Takeaway.

Want to make the evening extra special? Pre-order a delicious picnic hamper for two ($95), hire a low-level Chillazy Chair ($40) or purchase a Taronga picnic rug ($30).

And don't forget, your Christmas Live tickets also give you access to the zoo earlier in the afternoon, so there's plenty of time to visit your favourite animals before the concert begins.
