Badu Gili, which means 'water light' in the Gadigal language, celebrates the ancient stories and rich contemporary culture of Australia's First Nations.

Take a seat on the Monumental Steps for a FREE daily cultural experience as Sydney Opera House's sails are illuminated with striking, colourful 6-minute projections. 

This year's installation, Badu Gili: Story Keepers, is a vibrant animation of artworks that weaves the work and stories of local and international First Nations artists, created in collaboration between the Opera House, Biennale of Sydney and the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain.

Badu Gili: Story Keepers will light the eastern Bennelong sails nightly from sunset all year round.

Screenings occur around sunset: 5.40 pm, 6 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, and 7.30 pm, unless otherwise advised.
