Australian Theatre For Young People School Holiday Drama Workshops

ATYP have school holiday drama workshops for kids from years K–12 and all experience levels, with workshops ranging from 2 to 5 days. There is something for every young thespian! Whether it's their first time in a drama room or they're a seasoned performer, your child will leave their workshop with new skills and techniques they will utilise for years to come.

Running from 8 to 19 July, the program includes Filmmaking, Scene Work and HSC Preparation for older children, and slapstick comedy, drama adventures and monster stories for younger kids.

ATYP School Holiday Drama Workshop Highlights

Film Making: Thriller
Years 7 - 9
Create your own short thriller film, working in front and behind the camera. Learn how lighting, sound and editing can build the tension to the next level!

Pie Face: Slapstick Comedy
Years 3 - 4
Write, rehearse and present your own comic sketches to your family and friends at the end of the week and leave them rolling in the aisles

Dramarama
Years K-2
This fun two-day workshop is a great way to dive in and have some fun with drama skills, creative play and games.

Scene Work
Years 10-12
This course will give you the skills required to work with a scene from a first script read-through to getting up on the floor and performing.

ATYP's Holiday Workshops are held at the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, East Sydney Community Arts Centre and Darlinghurst Darlo Drama and led by industry experts who will ensure your young performer builds their performance skills, gains confidence, makes new friends, and most importantly, has a ton of fun in a safe and inspiring environment!

Classes run from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, with aftercare available for an additional fee.
