The Australian Chamber Orchestra is opening its doors these April school holidays for the ACO Foundations: Beginner Strings Intensive - a five-day program created especially for first-time players aged 7–10. No previous lessons or music theory are required! This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to spark confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of music from day one.

At ACO On The Pier in the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, children will be guided by experienced ACO Foundations educators in a supportive and inspiring environment. Across the week, they’ll explore the fundamentals of violin or cello through engaging, hands-on sessions that make learning feel exciting and achievable.

This is the perfect option for families wanting to try strings without committing to a full school term. In just five days, students will build foundational skills, develop listening and coordination, and experience the magic of making music together.
