There are many ways for your family to stay cosy and experience art together this winter and the Art Gallery of NSW is just the place to inspire your little ones.

In its 12th year, the family-friendly Young Archie competition and exhibition is on now, running alongside the prestigious Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes.

The Young Archie is a celebration of budding Australian talent, inviting artists between the ages of 5 and 18 to submit a portrait of someone who is special to them and plays a significant role in their life.

This year, the Young Archie competition received a  record-high 4000 entries. Of those submissions, there are 70 selected as finalists plus 20 honourable mentions on display.

You can now view finalists from each age category at the Art Gallery of New South Wales until Sunday 8 September 2024.

Don't miss the Archibald Wynne and Sulman Prizes 2024 exhibition, also on now at the gallery. Entry is FREE for children under 12.
