There are lots of events for babies and toddlers during term time so they can get creative and little imaginations can run wild.

Storytime For Under 5s

 

Did you know the Art Gallery of NSW has Australia’s first dedicated art library for kids? Join the passionate storytellers in the Children’s Art Library for a morning of live reading every Friday morning.

Storytime is suitable for children aged 3-5 years, and younger siblings are welcome to join in too.

When:     Fridays at 11am, during term time
Cost:       FREE, no bookings required

Kids Drop-In Workshop: Happy Birthday 2U2

 

Rediscover the art of handmade birthday cards at Hikoko Ito’s interactive exhibition Happy Birthday 2U2. Your kids will receive a hand-drawn birthday card written by someone who shares their birthday, but whom they've never met. They’ll also be able to make one for someone else at this daily drop-in workshop.

Hikoko Ito is a Japan-born artist living in Hong Kong who has created a series of mailboxes that represent every day of the year. Your child’s creation will be displayed within the artwork and become a gift for their ‘birthday twin’. How cute! You can drop in any day, no booking required and all materials are provided.

Roving Art-Making in the Naala Nura Building

 

Join a 40 minute guided tour for kids by the friendly volunteers at the Art Gallery of NSW. You’ll get an exclusive tour of the latest collection in the historic Naala Nura building and get hands-on with some fun art making activities. 

Get the inside scoop on the artists and learn the stories behind the artworks through fun activities. 

Suitable for the whole family, including the little ones, and makes for a great first-time taste of what the gallery has to offer.
