Step into a world of creativity, imagination, and talent at ARTEXPRESS 2025! This annual showcase of outstanding Year 12 HSC Visual Arts students is back, transforming the Art Gallery of New South Wales into a vibrant, thought-provoking wonderland of artistic expression that will inspire young creatives dreaming of making their mark!

From breathtaking paintings to cutting-edge digital works, the dynamic, highly-anticipated ARTEXPRESS 2025 showcase is a kaleidoscope of ideas, emotions, and stories told through 12 diverse expressive forms: ceramics, collection of works, designed objects, documented forms, drawing, graphic design, painting, photomedia, printmaking, sculpture, textiles and fibre, and time-based forms. Now in its 42nd year, the exhibition features 50 works selected from 8858 submissions!

The ARTEXPRESS 2025 exhibition also offers a glimpse into the minds of the next generation of artists, with works that creatively tackle big questions, personal journeys, and contemporary issues, giving voice to their thoughts and visions. Get a sneak peek inside a window into the topics concerning young Australians with themes that include family, identity, cultural heritage, and the high school experience, as well as social and political issues such as immigration, class and the environment.

Since 1989, the Art Gallery has been the principal venue for ARTEXPRESS, presented in partnership with the NSW Department of Education, Arts Unit and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
