Bondi Performing Arts offers dynamic drama and film classes for children aged 6 - 13 years, plus holiday workshops and HSC support for senior students. Based in Bondi, BPA champions creativity, builds confidence, and helps kids develop life skills through the performing arts.

Bondi Performing Arts: Drama & Film Classes For Kids

Founded by actor and performer Allison Butler and writer/director Nicholas Flanagan (PhD, NIDA graduate, published playwright and children’s TV writer), Bondi Performing Arts is dedicated to helping children and teens find their voice. Classes draw on movement, voice, storytelling and theatre games to spark creativity and help kids think on their feet and express themselves in new ways.

Bondi Performing Arts doesn’t just teach performance – it creates it. One of BPA’s unique features is its in-house writer, Nicholas Flanagan, who creates original scripts tailored to the students, so every child gets a role designed to highlight their strengths while helping them grow. The result? Kids who shine on stage and screen while developing lifelong skills in teamwork, self-expression and creative thinking.

Weekly Drama & Acting Classes

Drama Class – Years 1 & 2
Thursdays 3.30 pm - 4.30 pm

Through theatre games, character play, and improvisation, younger students build confidence and creativity. Short, high-energy activities keep them engaged while encouraging teamwork, imagination, and fun.

Acting Class – Years 3–6
Wednesdays 4 – 5 pm
Thursdays 4.30 – 5.30 pm

A hybrid program covering stagecraft, film performance, and theatre sports. Students develop a wide range of performance skills across multiple platforms in a playful, supportive environment.

HSC Drama Monologue Support

For senior students, BPA offers weekly HSC Drama Monologue Workshops led by Nicholas Flanagan, providing expert guidance to refine Individual Performance pieces in a supportive group setting.

School Holiday Workshops

School Holiday Film & Drama Workshops (Ages 8–12)

Over three creative days, students explore theatre games, stage performance, and film before presenting their work to family and friends in a special end-of-program performance.
