1. East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
First up is the idyllic island hideaway of East Nusa Tenggarra. This tropical paradise is the southernmost tip of Indonesia and is nowhere near as crowded as nearby Bali. Expect jungle-green oases, white-sandy beaches, hidden traditional villages and plenty of colourful snorkelling that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. And don't miss an opportunity to visit the lizards at neighbouring Komodo National Park.
2. Budapest, Hungary
A treasure trove of architecture and history, Budapest in Central Europe is a cheap holiday destination for wallet-friendly exploration, quintessential culture and plenty of delicious cuisines. Another African destination you can visit on the cheap, Zanzibar in Tanzania offers some of the best beaches in the world. Delicious cuisines in multicultural cafes come cheap and family accommodation certainly won’t break the bank in this unique destination.
