Accio, suitcase! After years of dreaming, the Wizarding World is finally getting its very own Harry Potter Hotel, and no, you won't need a Portkey to get there. Well, maybe just a flight to Munich.
A First-of-Its-Kind Wizarding Stay (No Owl Post Required)
LEGOLAND® Deutschland has just cast what might be the most exciting spell in theme park history: the world's first-ever Harry Potter hotel. Harry Potter fans will soon be able to sleep, eat, and breathe Hogwarts without being sorted into a dormitory by a fraying old hat (though we suspect the rooms will handle the sorting for you).
Expecto... a Very Themed Bedroom
Until now, the closest thing to a wizarding sleepover was nodding off on the Hogwarts Express ride at Universal. Not anymore. LEGOLAND® Deutschland is building guest accommodation devoted *entirely* to the Wizarding World, complete with Hogwarts-inspired decor, house-themed rooms, magical props, and immersive details that'll make even the most committed Muggle feel like they've stepped straight into the pages of the books.
There'll be nods to all four houses, so even Slytherin guests will be made to feel welcome, though we imagine their rooms are just slightly colder.
LEGO® Meets Hogwarts (Finally, a Crossover We Deserved)
But wait, there's more magic afoot. The hotel is part of a much grander plan: the world's first LEGO® Harry Potter Land. A mix of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and beloved wizarding locations, all rebuilt in glorious brick form. It's the Wizarding World, but make it snappy — literally!
Merlin Entertainments CEO Fiona Eastwood has called it the company's largest-ever single investment into an existing LEGOLAND® site. Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences' Peter van Roden has described it as an entirely new way to experience the wizarding world through LEGO®'s signature design language. In short, two very powerful forces have joined wands, and the result sounds absolutely spectacular.
A New Chapter For Potter Fans
Unlike the Universal parks in Florida, California, Japan, and China — which have long held the keys to the Wizarding World — this is a completely separate experience, with no Universal branding in sight. Germany is officially entering the Harry Potter universe, and it's doing so in style.
LEGOLAND® Deutschland sits in Bavaria, roughly halfway between Munich and Stuttgart. For families already planning a European adventure, this will make a brilliant addition to any itinerary. Think: lederhosen by day, butterbeer by night.
When Can We Go?
An exact opening date for the world's first Harry Potter Hotel hasn't been announced yet — the details are being guarded more closely than the Room of Requirement. More information is expected over the coming year, so keep your Marauder's Map handy.
In the meantime, perhaps start practising your packing spells. Bavaria is calling, and it's wearing robes.
