Oh boy, do we have a lion's share of news to bring you today! After waiting for what feels like forever, Sydney Zoo in Bungarribee (Western Sydney) finally has an open date.

Mark your diaries for Saturday 7 December 2019.

Sydney Zoo is a new world class zoo (on a massive 16.5 ha site) that is home to exotic and native animals, Australia's largest Reptile and Nocturnal house, Sydney’s only zoo and aquarium all in one, and has been designed with no hills or steps, making it perfect for wheelchairs and prams.

Some of the animals you'll meet inside include lions, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, tigers, red pandas, elephants, orangutans, baboons, cheetahs and hyenas. Oh my!

And in news worth chirping about, you can snap up an ANNUAL family pass for just $99!

School Holidays Sorted

Sydney Zoo’s Managing Director, Jake Burgess says he is excited to welcome an estimated one million visitors to the zoo per year and is happy to be opening just in time for the summer holidays.

Burgess said: “Sydney Zoo will welcome guests from 7 December. It is an exciting time for the future of Western Sydney where families can expect an incredible day getting closer than ever before to some of the world's most iconic animals at an affordable price.”

“We want everyone to have a great experience, so we have opted to sell our grand opening tickets and memberships online only and in session times to manage capacity. A day at Sydney Zoo will be great value for money, including free parking, keepers talks and shows, along with a variety of high-quality food and beverage options at competitive prices.”
