Sydney Lockdown Has Been Extended Until End of August

  • Parents Only

Sydney’s lockdown will once again be extended for another four weeks after 177 new cases were reported overnight on Tuesday.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian made the announcement on Wednesday, saying that 57 cases were infectious while in the community.

The lockdown extension is for Greater Sydney region, including the entire metropolitan area, Wollongong, the Central Coast, Shellharbour, and the Blue Mountains.

Berejiklian stated that it was imprortant that shopping or exercise is not allowed outside of an individual's 10 kilometre local government area.

It means that parents will face a minimum of four more weeks of homeschooling. "We know what a stress this is for parents," explained Berejiklian.
