  • All Ages

If you love theme parks (who doesn't!), then you're going to jump for joy when you see what they've got planned for the iconic Sea World on the Gold Coast.

One of the most popular theme parks in Australia is about to get even more thrills and spills as Sea World announce the addition of three new attractions as part of their brand-new The New Atlantis precinct.

Families travelling to the Gold Coast for a holiday always hit up the many theme parks and attractions on offer in the glistening city by the sea. Since it opened in 1971, Sea World have been providing millions upon millions of visitors with epic attractions, rides, exhibitions, shows, animal adventures and more. To keep the good times splashing, Sea World have decided to add a brand-new precinct to their already burgeoning empire, and they're calling it The New Atlantis.

Described as the ultimate Atlantean adventure, the design of The New Atlantis evokes the myths and mysteries of the heroes and legends of Atlantis. Three new multi-million-dollar rides will dominate The New Atlantis precinct, and one of them is already open to the public!

Rides at The New Atlantis

The Vortex Sea World
Vortex

Vortex is already open at Sea World's The New Atlantis and will be followed soon by Leviathan and Trident.

Vortex catapults riders 15 metres into the air with incredible high-speed twists, turns and spins. The 15-metre-high spinning attraction is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Get ready to dodge swirling masses of water as 30-kilometre speeds whip you into the air to brave the colossal currents of the mythical Vortex.

Leviathan Sea World

Leviathan is more family-friendly and is the only timber rollercoaster to be built in Australia in three decades! Branded as the 'world's greatest family rollercoaster', Leviathan takes families on a 90-second quest across wooden terrain through exhilarating banked turns, crossovers, drops and dips.

Trident Sea World

And finally, Trident. Towering 42 metres above the park, Trident is now officially Sea World's tallest attraction and resides in the heart of The New Atlantis precinct. Thrillseekers will be right at home atop Trident as the God of the Sea spins you into oblivion at incredible speeds while showcasing the incredible panoramic views of the Gold Coast.

The New Atlantis Opening Date

While Vortex is already open at Sea World, Leviathan and Trident are still being built and rumoured to be in operation by the end of 2022 - get ready!
