A Brand-New Ikea is Opening in Sydney

A brand-new Ikea is about to open its doors in Sydney. We repeat: a brand-new Ikea is coming to Sydney!

If you're like most Sydney parents, the name Ikea most likely fills your mind with affordable furniture options for pretty much all home interior styles. The European furniture and homewares chain has been filling Australian homes with stylish and highly affordable products since 1975 and isn't showing any signs of slowing down any time soon. In fact, Ikea have been working hard at rolling out even more Australian stores, and one in Sydney is about to open in June 2023!

A Brand-New Ikea Announced for Sydney's Northern Beaches

Ikea have just revealed that a new Ikea store will be opening its doors on Sydney's Northern Beaches in June 2023. 

HomeCo. Shopping Centre at Belrose (formerly Belrose SuperCentre) is the new location of one of Ikea's Plan and Order Points. If you've never heard about these miniature versions of the bigger Ikea stores, they're the perfect location for keen Ikea shoppers to get one-on-one consultations for planning more complex interior fit-outs such as kitchens and cabinets. 

As those of us who've visited an Ikea or two in our time know, wading through the labyrinth of rooms, products and other shoppers can be a bit of a headache, particularly if you're only there to pick out a new cupboard! Ikea's Plan and Order Points solve this problem by providing a space for shoppers to pinpoint exactly which products they need and which dimensions they'll buy without having to actually enter an Ikea megastore.

Johanna Gbenplay, Market Area Manager for Ikea Australia says, "The Plan and order point format has opened up new opportunities for Ikea to be exactly where our customers need us to be, and this is a key part of our growth strategy for Ikea in Australia.

We already have a strong presence with three IKEA stores in Sydney, but we will now be on the doorstep of the many people of the Northern Beaches area, who we know are avid home furnishers and renovators, but may have not considered Ikea as close or convenient for them previously."

The new Belrose Plan and Order Point is only the second Ikea Plan and Order Point in Australia, with the first one opening its doors in Melbourne's High Point in 2022.

The new Belrose Ikea will be located within the HomeCo. Shopping Centre and is set to open in June 2023.
