Marking the Hindu Festival of Colours and strengthening cultural diversity within our growing South Asian communities, Holi is set to be celebrated with a flourish across Sydney. 

In a country often described as one of the most multicultural in the world, Holi has become far more than a religious observance. It is a vivid, open-hearted celebration filled with joy, where people of all backgrounds gather to share in the colour and connection.

In Western Sydney, Holi events reflect the region’s strong community spirit and multicultural identity, and symbolises renewal and hope. The festival brings a flurry of colour, as crowds throw gulal (bright powdered pigments), enjoy Bollywood music and dance performances, and share festive foods, alongside plenty of family-friendly entertainment.

Through music, food and shared celebration, Holi promotes social harmony, friendship and togetherness.

Festival of Colour in Quakers Hill

One of the standout Holi events in Western Sydney is the Festival of Colour at Quakers Hill Park - a free event that captures the lively spirit of Holi while welcoming the entire neighbourhood! Held on Saturday 21 March 2026, the festival promises a lively afternoon of culture and connection. Revellers can explore food trucks and market stalls, meet local community groups and enjoy kids' rides and crafts. There will be an exciting lineup of stage performances as well as the highlight of the day- the colour throw!

The entertainment kicks off at noon with Sydney Performing Arts Academy, followed by Nithyakalashestra Dance School at 12.25 pm. The Mayoral Welcome takes place at 1 pm, with RJ Entertainment at 1.15 pm, Nrityam Sydney Dance at 1.40 pm and Nartan Institute of Performing Arts at 2.20 pm. At 3 pm, the much-anticipated colour throw will take over the festival, accompanied by a DJ GI Joe set. The festivities continue through to 6 pm, delivering a full afternoon of music, movement and multicultural fun.
