Join the festivities and help celebrate two decades since expanding the indoor facility at Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton! Get free entry to the venue all day and enjoy a fun-filled family day out with pool inflatables, free swim assessments, face painting, giveaways and much more!

2. FAM Fest 2026
Wham, bam, thank you fam! FAM Fest is bringing food, art and music to the heart of Blacktown for a lively day of entertainment, creativity and community spirit. This vibrant festival celebrates the best of the local area while giving families plenty of reasons to head into the CBD.
Enjoy live performers and DJs across two stages, tuck into delicious food from local restaurants and explore artistic and cultural experiences throughout the event. With plenty of music, food and creative energy filling the streets, FAM Fest is a great way to discover local talent, enjoy a fun day out with the family and dance in the streets until 10 pm!

3. Blacktown City Pet Festival
This pet-friendly, family-friendly event is a joint initiative between Blacktown City Council and the Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre. And, you guessed it, all fur-babies are welcome! At Blacktown City Pet Festival, owners can bring their “furry, feathery or scaly” friends for a paw-some day out. There will be interactive pet displays, market stalls and pet products, delicious food trucks and live entertainment.
Don't miss the free activities and family fun all day long, including face painting, pony rides, pet caricatures and the Pet Festival Selfie Competition. Plus, all Blacktown locals can take advantage of free vet checks and microchipping.

4. Kings Langley Festival
A free annual community event run in collaboration between Blacktown City Council and the Kings Langley Lions Club. At the free Kings Langley Festival, you can browse the market stalls and craft, pop-up shops selling local goods, see stage performers, brave the carnival rides, and learn a thing or two from the emergency services displays.

5. Pasifika Unity Festival
Blacktown’s first-ever Pasifika Unity Festival is bringing the vibrant cultures of Polynesia, Micronesia and Melanesia together for a huge weekend of family-friendly celebration. Head to Blacktown Football Park for a weekend packed with culture, entertainment, food and community spirit.
Enjoy live music, browse market stalls, tuck into delicious food and keep the kids entertained with family-friendly activities. Sports fans can also catch live Rugby League World Cup action, adding an extra dose of excitement to the festivities. It is a brilliant opportunity for families to experience and celebrate the diverse cultures of the Pasifika community in Blacktown.

6. Blacktown City Christmas Carols
Get into the festive spirit at the Blacktown City Christmas Carols, a magical evening of music, family fun and Christmas cheer. Gather the crew and settle in for a night of live entertainment, delicious food and plenty of activities to keep the kids smiling.
Little ones can meet Santa and snap a festive photo, get creative with free Christmas crafts, and have their faces painted by the Christmas elves. Roving performers will add to the fun, while food and market stalls offer plenty of tasty treats to enjoy throughout the evening. Then settle in for the carols before fireworks light up the sky and bring the celebration to a sparkling finish.

7. 2027 Australia Day Concert & Fireworks
Celebrate Australia Day 2027 with a family-friendly day out at The Rooty Hill with a packed program of entertainment. The celebrations bring plenty of community spirit with live stage performances, free amusement rides and food stalls throughout the day.
Kids can enjoy the free rides while families soak up the live entertainment, grab something tasty from the food stalls and settle in for the evening’s grand finale, with Western Sydney’s best fireworks display lighting up the sky.

8. 2027 Lunar New Year Celebrations
Celebrate the Lunar New Year at Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens in Nurragingy Reserve as the gardens come alive with colour, culture and festive entertainment. Families can gather for an evening of traditional celebrations as Blacktown welcomes the Year of the Goat.
The festivities include spectacular Lion and Dragon Dances, plus cultural activities and free fun for kids, before the celebrations finish with a spectacular fireworks display.

9. Beats and Bites
Beats and Bites is a live music and food event run by Blacktown City Council. The concept is to combine “Beats” (music from local musicians) with “Bites” (local cafes, street food, casual eats) in Blacktown’s CBD. Stroll on down to Warrick Lane every Friday and Saturday evening and enjoy the relaxed vibe.

10. Blacktown Drive-In Markets
The bustling Blacktown Drive-In Markets are a well-known weekend tradition in Sydney. Held every Sunday at the historic Skyline Drive-In in Prospect, the “car boot markets" are a vibrant blend of nostalgia and community. Go in search of retro fashion, antique furniture, vinyl records, and memorabilia, or pick up your weekly fresh fruit and veg. Find it right next to Sydney's last remaining drive-in movie theatre.

11. Nursery Open Days
Calling all green thumbs! Blacktown City Council's Nursery Open Days are designed to promote sustainability and make the community greener! During these events, Blacktown residents who can’t pick up their annual allocation for the Nursery Giveaway Program during weekdays are allowed to collect free plants for their homes and gardens on a Saturday.
Each event offers a selection of native and exotic plants, with nursery staff available to assist in choosing species suitable for your garden. Proof of residency is required, and you can snap up two plants per household.
