Who doesn't love a heated indoor pool? Well, Sydney's newest indoor/outdoor recreation space at Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre has indoor pools, outdoor pools plus loads of other state-of-the-art facilities. We went for a splash-tastic visit to Gunyama Park and loved every refreshing moment.
Sydney's New Favourite Recreation Centre
With huge open spaces, sleek facilities and endless activities, you’re spoilt for choice at Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Located in Zetland, Gunyama is the perfect oasis for the whole family away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Along with the main drawcard at Gunyama (the extravagant pools!), the new recreation centre offers just that - plenty of recreation for families, opportunities to chill out or reset with a yoga session, take up an aerobics class (or two), meet up with friends and utilise the swimming facilities or all of the above!
Regardless of how young or how old you are, what your definition of rest and relaxation might be, or what health goals you have set for yourself, there is something for everyone at Gunyama Park. And if you are anything like me, you’ll also welcome any opportunity for your kiddies to whittle away any stored-up energy while you watch and put your feet up for a few blissful minutes.
What's On Offer At Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre?
Gunyama Park was created to be a world-class space for rest, relaxation, exercise and family-friendly fun and rest assured, it certainly delivers. Of course, the heroes of the day in my children's eyes were the multiple (yes, multiple!) pools on offer. Gunyama Park offers a smorgasbord of indoor/outdoor facilities including indoor and outdoor pools (4 in total!) for all-weather fun. Gunyama Park's new pool zones consist of a 50-metre outdoor heated pool, 25-metre indoor heated pool, indoor water play, plus an indoor hydrotherapy pool.
My children (aged 2, 4, 6, and 8) spent hours soaking in the outdoor pool area enjoying the different depths each of the pools offered to cater for all swimming ranges and abilities. This is also a perfect spot to have a picnic with shade aplenty while you take a breather and watch your family discover the endless choices at Gunyama Park.
Gunyama's indoor water facilities offered a different experience altogether with a water play section for kids with slides, a giant mega drench, and water activities to keep even the most energetic kids busy for hours.
Fitness Facilities
Along with incredible swimming facilities, Gunyama Park also offers modern fitness facilities for those looking to get fit. If you are looking to pump iron why not do it using the latest and greatest in gym tech or visit the spin studio (with 30 brand-new interactive bikes) or one of the three group exercise rooms available. Personalised Training is also available so speak to one of the friendly staff members for further information. Don’t forget to check out the outdoor training circuit where seating and BBQ facilities are also available.
