A New Splash Park Opens at Des Renford Leisure Centre

If you live in or around Randwick council, you'll already know and love the Des Renford Leisure Centre—one of the Eastern Suburbs' favourite pools and leisure facilities. And now, the much-loved DRLC is about to get a serious glow-up, with construction set to kick off on a brand-new and improved splash park next week.

A New Splash Park Opens at Des Renford Leisure Centre

According to Randwick Council Mayor Dylan Parker, the $1.5M project is all about creating a fun and adventurous new space for families to enjoy, noting a gap in the city's offering of engaging, high-quality water facilities that go beyond being just a pool. We love to see it!

The new splash park at Des Renford Leisure Centre, which is located in Maroubra's Heffron Park boasts features like slides, water sprays, a spiral tunnel, a fun-brella, sneaky soaker, surf cannon, surfboard and even a dump bucket—so it's pretty safe to say that kids of all ages are going to love it. 

Sustainability in Mind

The sparkling new aquatic playground has sustainability in mind, too. With a water circulation system that recycles and reuses up to 95 per cent of used water, you can feel good knowing that you're playing in an eco-friendly environment.

And for parents—the new park features plenty of new seating areas and beautiful landscaping, so you can relax, grab a coffee and supervise your little ones in comfort.

Des Renford Splash Park Opening Date

The New Des Renford Splash Park opened on Sunday, 8 October 2023 as part of the leisure centre's 10th birthday celebrations.
