ellaslist Reviews: A Family❜s Day at Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq

  • All Ages

Our family's high-flying expectations were matched by the vibrancy and thrill of Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq, nestled in the heart of Alexandria.

Excitement bubbled on our car journey to the Inner West of Sydney, and my husband, our 8-year-old and 11-year-old nieces, and our energetic 2-year-old son were ready for an unforgettable day out.

We'd heard whispers about the technicolour arcade games and the 'electric' vibe of the venue. Thus, armed with curiosity and anticipation, we embarked on a fun-filled journey into the heart of the Archie Brothers' universe.

A Kaleidoscope of Arcade Games at Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq

Ready for a magic day at Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq

Our first steps into Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq were like stepping into a retro circus filled with staff wearing adorable ringmaster costumes or red suspenders. The magic took over right away.

Just around the corner and into the arcade, pulsating neon pink and electric blue lights danced across the walls, bouncing to the beat of the adrenaline-pumping music that reverberated through the air from the different machines.

It was a full-on assault on the senses – in the best possible way. With the game cards we'd bought (which were, by the way, loaded with bonus credits), we plunged into the hypnotic world of arcade games.

The game cards were more than just tickets to fun; they were passports to a world where time seemed to stand still. One of the best parts? The credits and tickets on the cards were valid for up to 12 months, making it a purchase that promised prolonged excitement.

The Arcade - A Symphony of Sights and Sounds

Archie Brothers is now my son's happy place.

Saying hello to the bear at the Shooting Gallery

Archie Brothers offered a staggering array of arcade games, each more tempting than the last.

My nieces, wide-eyed and giddy with anticipation, were drawn like magnets to the vibrant games like Let's Bounce and a giant ride on Hungry Hungry Hippos Game. At the same time, my husband and I opted for some of the classic arcade games that brought a wave of nostalgia.

In the midst of all this, our 2-year-old son was having a blast, mesmerised by the bright lights and absorbing the infectious, vibrant energy. His little feet bounced to the rhythm of the arcade's music, his laughter mingling with the symphony of joyous noises around us. I'll remember how happy he was this day for the rest of my life.

Buckle Up for the Thrillrider

Dancing baby on the Dance Revolution game.

Still a bit small for the Thrillrider, but he gave it a go!

The Thrillrider was our next stop, and boy, did it deliver! This virtual reality extravaganza was the epitome of immersion, transporting us from the familiar surroundings of Alexandria to the heart of mesmerising cinematic landscapes.

The combination of the high-definition visuals and the bone-rattling sound effects left my nieces (and my husband) raving. From roller-coasters that rocketed through star-studded galaxies to adrenaline-inducing car races down treacherous terrains, the Thrillrider was a whirlwind of virtual excitement.

Bowling and More at Archie Brothers

Chef's Kiss for the Margherita pizza.

The bowling alley was a grand spectacle in its own right. Resplendent in neon lights and with the clatter of pins echoing through the venue, it offered a hip, fresh twist on a classic family game.

And it wasn't just about the gaming. My husband and I savoured cocktails served right in our lane while our nieces cheered each time they knocked down the pins.

The array of mouth-watering snacks from the in-house diner kept our energy levels up and made the experience all the more delightful. I should also mention the star of our gastronomical journey - the Margherita pizza.

The Dodgem Cars and the Laser Tag Arena

My niece was there to win, and win she did!

As we ventured further into Archie Brothers, we found ourselves at the Dodgem cars arena. The arena was a battlefield of laughter and light-hearted competitiveness as we chased and bumped each other around the track. The squeals of glee and peals of laughter from my nieces were infectious, and soon enough, our entire family was caught in the thrill of the chase.

Next up was the laser tag arena, where we dove into an abandoned carnival-themed course. The eerie setting, bathed in glow-in-the-dark colours, served as the perfect backdrop for a fun, safe and high-energy game that was thoroughly enjoyed by the girls.

Archie Brothers - The Fun Continues

The girls got so many prizes and memories to last a lifetime.
